Invisible Existence [Taka / NC-17 / Drug warning]

Rem had spent the last few weeks mostly in a state of oblivion, blood nearly no longer blood but instead a strange cocktail of drugs that left him oblivious to the world and finally able to ignore his own pain. Thankfully it was dark in the alley, and only portions of his blond hair caught enough light that if someone was looking they would see which meant he was safe from any prying eyes.

He still had a needle in his hand, though all the drugs were long gone from it and into his system, his breathing slowed to the point of being practically dead all over again. He couldn't even feel his limbs anymore, and the world faded in and out around him as he passed out and woke up, still slumped over his knees before sighing a bit, digging into his pocket as he felt reality starting to form again, finding some pills and tilting his head back, down them with a bottle of liquor he'd kept by his side.

There was no interest left in the world currently, and he desperately wanted to be free of it all. As far as he was concerned he'd suffered more than enough, why was he still going other than the fact that his body was actually able to tolerate these suicidal levels of toxins coursing through his veins.

Taka walked down the street, his gait slow and steady... It had been a few weeks he'd seen the little demon and while part of him wanted to look for Rem, the other part of him said that Rem would probably find him when he was needed... That was the way of the demons... They typically just floated in and out of people's lives as they felt like it... There was nothing wrong with it, though it did usually make for a frustrating time you expected any degree of commitment from them...

As he walked, Taka wasn't really looking for anything, but something did happen to catch his eye... It was an amber colored bottle with a white label rolling out of an alley... He never would have noticed it if it hadn't been moving, but like most people, the motion caught his attention and caused him to look into the alley... Most humans would ignore, figuring that it was a drug deal, or some homeless guy strung out on prescription pain killers, but the fox in Taka made him have to know...

Stepping into the alleyway and inhaling deeply, he snorted as the heavy scents of body odor, garbage, liquor and drugs assaulted his nose... He was half surprised that there wasn't the scent of a decaying body too, but as he walked deeper into the alleyway, something else hit him... A more familiar odor... One that he couldn't place... His curiosity piqued, Taka wandered over to a huddled form next to a group of trash cans and knelt down, half unable to believe his eyes...

He had known the little demon was a user... He had smelt the last vestiges of the toxins in the demon's blood stream... But he had no notion that the little demon would attempt to do this kind of damage to himself... For a moment it was like time stood still... Emotions boiled up and mingled in a strange cocktail of feelings that made him simultaneously want to punch the demon in the face, his his mouth and then hold him and cry... Knowing that all of the above were inappropriate, he simply stared, reaching out to brush the filthy blonde hair out of the demon's face as though maybe he had been wrong and it wasn't Rem huddled up in this alleyway, completely strung out...

"Rem?"

Everything internally screamed to ignore whatever was calling at him, but Rem never could manage to kill off that curiosity even on the borderland of death. It took him a good minute at least to manage to pull his head up and let it slip backwards to rest against the wall, and then another to actually make his eyes focus enough to see who was talking to him. He had hoped it would be a ghost from the past, someone to comfort him as he headed somewhere unfamiliar.

However he recognized the other to not be a ghost but instead someone very much from the living and he couldn't help the disappointment that creeped onto his face. Everything was happening so fast in his head, and yet it was also only moving a slugs pace. Questions, why was Taka here, how did he manage to find him hidden back in this dirty alley, did he even remember who he was? But he had called his name after all, and suddenly tears spilled out.

"Go..." he bit his lip, moving to drop his head again as he swallowed hard, wanting so badly to curl up into a ball and fall into nothing again. "I don't want you to see me like this....."

The tears were enough to move him into action... With a gentle sigh, Taka brushed a few of the tears away, tossed away the needle and then moved his arms around the demon, lifting him up as easily as though he were just a small child... Shifting the bag of groceries on his back, Taka turned heel and started walking out of the alley, his face looking mildly unreadable... With Taka, his face always looks a bit on the irritated side, even when he's not actually irritated... So at the moment, he's actually just extremely concerned for the little demon, but his face looks set in a scowl...

As he walks, Taka mumbles softly about Rem worrying him half to death and how he should kick the demon's ass for not taking care of himself, but in reality, it's just Taka's way of showing his concern... Sighing softly in annoyance, Taka finished the rest of the way home, knowing that the demon would protest to being carried, but also knowing the demon was in no shape to put up any kind of fight...

Coming to the door, Taka got a bit creative, trying to fumble for his keys and said grudgingly "Why is you seem to affect my ability to open doors?" referring to how much trouble he had with the lock when Rem was last here and he had the demon pressed up against the door, practically dry humping him in the hallway...

Taka was right in assuming that Rem opposed the being carried. Move at all actually. He wanted to push the other away, to yell at him and tell him to leave him there so that he could be buried in the hole he'd dug himself so far into. None of the words seemed to come out however, just the occasional whisper of a vague word.

He felt heavy, like a thousand pounds. He had no idea how the other was even managing to carry him really. He would have been in awe over it if he didn't also want to throw up over the swaying movement of walking. He held back the urge to vomit though, no part of him wanted to die choking on bile that burned practically to the soul.

"Not..my fault..you're inept..." he breathed out after a moment of processing the words in his head, giving a short laugh before coughing a bit, grimacing and giving the other a vague shove as if to say to put him down so that he could get the door open. Maybe it would also give him a chance to get away and remove this annoyance from the others day.

Not a chance... The kitsune finally managed to get the door open and then shuffled inside with Rem and the groceries... He shut the door behind him, locking it and then slipped out of his shoes before taking the little demon right to the bathroom... Setting the demon down in the tub, clothes and all, Taka put his hands on his hips and said firmly "Stay here... Do not even think about moving... I need to put these in the kitchen..."

The fox turned heel and went to the kitchen, sliding the bag of groceries off his back, quickly putting the perishables in the fridge before grabbing several bottles of water and returning to the bathroom... This is going to be a long weekend... The drugs in Rem's system would likely take weeks to fully work their way out, but at the very least Taka does the majority of his research from home... He'll be able to keep an eye on the demon for the time being.

There was no way in hell Rem was going to make the other suffer through this with him. He was sure that no amount of sex would ever make up for how much vomit, cursing and agony was about to happen when it all went down.

His head swayed and lulled a bit, falling forward as he gathered his focus once set in the tub, waiting until the other was enough away and forcing his heavy limbs to move, climbing over the lip of the tub and onto the ground on all fours and over to the door, giving it a light pat only for it to budge an inch. He made a face and did it again, this time getting it to swing most of the way before he reached out and shut it quietly, moving up onto his knees at what felt like an agonizingly slow pace and fumbling with the lock on the door.

That would give him probably about a minute, maybe two depending, to get his ass off the bathroom floor and up. He used the door knob to help him, still not sure if what he was feeling was actually his limbs or a figment of his imagination. He got off the ground though, making it over to the window before giving it a good wrestle to get it open. At moments like this, it was to his advantage to be overly skinny from not caring about his health. Up he went and managed to half climb out the window, arms weak however as he sank slowly to the point of laying on his stomach, very out of breath as he hung his head for a moment.

"For fucks sake..." he breathed, kicking his legs and pushing his arms as much as he could, sending himself right out the window head first and...down a few flights, landing on his back into a dumpster with a none too subtle crash and moan on his part.

Taka walked back to the bathroom and saw the closed door, stopping and looking at it for a moment as though to say "Really? Did he seriously just completely disobey me?" Sighing a bit and putting the bottle down, first he tries to open the door then called out to Rem before looking irritated and just pushing the door open... He'll have to have it fixed before the land lord finds out... But that's no problem... He can have the handyman out by the next day... As he walks in the bathroom, his eyes go to the tub, then to the window and he droops looking as though "Really? You must be kidding me..."

Stepping up the window he shimmies through and stands on the ledge, looking down at the body in the dumpster before jumping off, his tattoo coming to life off his shoulders in an flurry of feathers and torn fabric... As they powerful wings capture the updraft, he slows floats down to the dumpster and lifts Rem's body out, twitching in an effort not to scream at the demon for being a fucking moron...

The better man won and Taka pulled his wings back in with a grunt before yet again, carrying Rem up three flights of stairs and struggling to get his front door open... This time though, as an added bonus, he's shirtless which is getting a ton of stares form his neighbors... He scowls at them all and then slams the door, locking it and taking Rem back to the bathroom and setting him in the tub before grabbing a pair of scissors from the cabinet and literally cutting Rem's clothes off... The pants he did have some trouble with, but dammit he managed...

Throwing the clothes in the bin, Taka turned the water on to a nice hot temperature and let the tub start to fill as he poured soap in the water and then took a nice soapy cloth to the demon's skin... It took several washes to make sure the demon was a sparkly clean as he was when he left, but Taka managed... He even cleaned all the sensitive bits...

By the time he's done cleaning though, honestly he's not angry... Just heartbroken... The tracks on the demon's arms... The pale grayish hue of his skin... It's like in just a few short weeks, Rem has withered away and died... What Taka doesn't understand is how this could have happened... Rem seemed so upbeat when he'd left the next day... So what had caused him to spiral like this?!

Draining the tub for the last time, Taka lifted the demon out and gently dried him off in a fresh towel, wrapping his small form in the softness before taking a brush to the tangled hair... When he finished, Taka clipped the hair back and then went about covering the demon in lotion... It wasn't strictly necessary, but it was what Taka himself did and when he was as distressed about something as he was at the moment, he took great comfort in routine... Satisfied that at the very less the demon was clean, Taka carried the demon into his bedroom and tucked him in...

Sighing again, Taka went to the cleaning cupboard and brought back a bucket setting it by the side of the bed... He had a feeling that when Rem came to, he was probably going to need it... Feeling exhausted both physically and mentally, Taka finally crawled into bed next to Rem and lay on his stomach, watching the demon, just to make sure that nothing else happened...

Rem had passed ut by the point, and given himself a few good cuts from the fall. He bled slowly, droplets following them all the way upstairs and into the bathroom as he healed up slowly while the other bathed and cleaned him. He gave the occasional murmur, but otherwise was still and compliant as he slept.

He slept for a few hours after all was said and done, though the dangerous mixture of drugs were burning off slowly, they still didn't agree with his stomach and as the other predicted, he woke up nearly choking on vomit. His whole body jerked upwards as he coughed, fingers clawing into the sheets as he practically threw himself off the bed. He hit the bucket in the process and didn't even hesitate to grab it, leaning over it with an agonized moan and heaving every last bit of his stomach contents into it along with the last of his energy.

With trembling hands he sat back up, leaning weakly against the side of the bed as he caught his breath, a slight sheen of sweat creeping over his skin slowly as his body fought with the drugs, wanting them out of his system entirely. He opened his eyes slowly, looking around without moving his head before peering over the edge of the bed to see Taka and making a face. "Idiot..I told you to leave me..."

Taka gave the other a look that spoke volumes as he slipped off the bed, down to the floor with the demon... Putting his fingers on the other's frail shoulder he whispered softly, "I couldn't leave you... That isn't in my nature... I had to make sure you were okay..."

Kissing the slightly sweat slick shoulder, Taka gently lifted the demon's hands and pressed his thumbs into the pressure points on the demon's wrists... The pressure points there relieve nausea and honestly, Rem isn't the first strung out demon he's had to care for... But he is the first one that Taka has actually cared about enough to bath and allow to sleep in his own bed...

Resting behind the naked demon, Taka sighed softly and whispered "You're going to stay here... I'm sure you can handle the withdraw on your own... You probably have experience and your demon blood should expedite the process... But all the same... It will help you to have company and I don't mind sharing space...

Taka's eyes darted to the tracks again and he sighed again, feeling sad... He knows it's not his fault and knows that he can't judge someone he barely met... But it hurts him to see you in this kind of pain... Looking at the clock to make sure that he's been holding the pressure points for long enough, he takes the demon's wrists and rubs them together slowly before finally releasing them and gently helping Rem back into bed...

He picks up the bucket and takes it to the bathroom, dumping it out in the toilet, rinsing it in the shower and pouring some bleach in it to get ride of the smell... A coating of lysol to kill of any more germs and it's ready to go, so he returns to the bedroom with the bucket in hand, a few more damp washcloths, and the bottles of water that he left before... Setting the bucket down by the bed again, Taka picked up one the clothes and used it to gently wipe the sweat from Rem's skin and then folded up the cooler of the two, placing it across the demon's forehead... Finally he pointed at the water and said firmly, "Hydration... Is... Important..."

"I wish you wouldn't have.." he sighed, not really having the energy to do much other than sit on the cool ground, grateful for the cool against his skin. He watched the other touch his wrists, not pulling away but curious to what he was doing. "Taka...I..please don't. If I stay here you'll be miserable. This isn't the first time, youre right. I'll be okay on my own, you don't have to look after me.." he sighed.

Rem sat in the bed quietly, twisting the sheets between his hands weakly as he tried not to get too comfortable, knowing he'd be asleep right away if he relaxed even a little.

The cool wash clothe felt wonderful against his warm damp skin and he sighed softly, looking back at the other again with sad eyes before looking over to the water. "Yes.." he murmured, reaching over and picking up the water to drink, sipping at it absently. It tasted horrible, though it helped soothe the burning at the back of his throat slightly.

Taka looked at the other and shook his head quickly, "No... You will be staying here, no arguments... I'm not going to lay here at night thinking about you being curled up in a trash can somewhere alone and OD'd..."

Sitting down next to the other, making sure he drank the full bottle of water, Taka then started to work at the demon's other pressure points... He knows Rem's body needs nutrition, water and rest to beat this, and he can take care of the latter two right now... The third will have to wait until the demon's stomach is a little more settled... But for the moment he works at Rem's pressure points, focusing on the ones that relieve stress and tension so that he'll relax enough to sleep...

"Listen... I don't care if it's your first time or your fiftieth time... We all have problems so I don't have any right to judge you... I'm mean hell, I literally hate most people... They seriously irritate me... But the people that I do take a liking to, I protect... That's just who I am..."

Satisfied with his work on your pressure points, he pulls his hands away and then lays down next to you throwing an arm over your tummy "Also... you'll eat three square meals a day and you'll like it..."

He might sound gruff at the moment, but... Really it's just his way of showing the demon how much he cares about him... All he wants is for the demon to beat this... And maybe realize that there are good things to live for... Things that are certainly better then drugs to die for...

He opened his mouth to argue before sighing, closing his eyes a bit. "So what, are you going to babysit me for the rest of forever then? I mean, you can't always be here to stop me, and eventually Ill be unhappy again." He pointed out, trying to fight against the mounting relaxation he was feeling.

His stomach still hated him, but at least for right now his stomach was empty and the most that was going to happen was dry heaving. He winced a bit at the weight on his stomach, not fighting with him for the moment.

"Eating will be out of the question for a few days...not something I'm happy about but it'll just come straight back up, I can tell you that right now.." he sighed, moving onto his side slowly and curling up a bit. "You should hate me too...I'm only going to be a pain in your side if you stay near me.."

Taka looked at the other and gave him a daring look "If I have to, I will..."

Leaving it at that, Taka sighed softly and said "Unhappy? Then I guess I'll have to make sure that you're never unhappy... Problem solved..."

Rubbing his hand over the demon's belly, Taka looked him over slowly and wondered what it would be like to have to have you with him forever... Would he hate it? Would he get annoyed by you? Would he have loads of fun and have a ton of sex?

God it would be like being fucking MARRIED...

Chuckling at the absurdity of the notion, he looked at the demon and said softly "I don't hate you... Why would I? Wouldn't it be cruel to say that you liked someone and then turn around later and say you hated them?"

He rolled his eyes a bit, surprised the other was taking this as a challenge rather than just listening. Rem wasn't kidding that he could make the others life miserable with all this. "Youre crazy.." he murmured.

"You don't get it, it never ends well for me. In the end Ill always be alone and wanting to end it.." he sighed. "But before that point Ill hurt and betray you." He had a feeling he wasn't going to get the other to understand in the state he was in. He would prove it to the other when he had more energy to do so, but for now all that the other was doing really did put him to the point of falling asleep.

After awhile and the others slow incline in health, Rem got a bit more testy with the other. He wanted to make a point to Taka that he'd taken on more of a challenge than he wanted to deal with. Despite the fact that Rem was thankful for the other helping him out, he still stubbornly declined most foods the other decided to make, asking for the most random, out there meals instead that would take forever to make.

Once he was to the point of managing himself he didn't slow down, ornery even more so than before as he had the energy to stay awake and cause mischief whenever a thought occurred to him, going so far as to leave buckets of water even above doors whenever the other wasn't looking.

When it was finally a nice day out Rem opened up the window, leaning out it a bit as he closed his eyes, sighing loudly. "Today would be a good day to get out..."

To say the Taka was looking patience with the demon was kind of an understatement... But the kitsune was just as stubborn as the demon and wasn't going to give Rem the satisfaction of seeing him squirm... No he was going to beat this if it killed him... Besides he knew exactly what Rem was doing... Just like a child in foster care, Rem couldn't believe that someone could accept him warts and all, so when people tried, the demon did his best to push them away so that he could say he was right when they abandoned him... This trick was going to be waiting that phase out which in Rem's case would be easier said then done...

Sighing softly when the demon mentioned going out, Taka stood up and got a spare key from a jar, walking up behind the demon and holding it out... "You're not a prisoner here... If you want to take a walk, just got... You're an adult... Despite being a little too cute to be one..."

Chuckling softly and looking into Rem's eyes he said softly, "I never meant to keep you locked up, I just wanted you to be safe while you were recovering... So... Dinner is the usual time... Just make sure you're back in time okay?"

To try and keep a demon in one place was like trying to keep a bird in A cage... It was cruel to the bird and it would always try to get away... It had to be the bird's choice to come back, so Taka knew he had to give that opportunity to the demon too... Trust had to run both ways... He was trusting Rem to come back home just like he hoped Rem would eventually trust him enough come back on his own...

Rem looked over at the other when he came up to him, looking at the key before looking back outside, shaking his head. "I appreciate it, but I don't go out when it's nice out. Seeing a bunch of happy people makes me want to get into fights."

Even if the other had wanted to keep him locked up, Rem still would have gotten out if he was desperate enough. He wasn't possible to keep contained if he wasn't willing. "Don't call me cute, I'm not cute." He scowled for a moment, stepping away from the window.


"Cute didn't have you worked up to the point of fucking repeatedly in the night. I may be childish but I'm not cute." He hummed, moving to lay down on the couch and flip on a tv.

Taka watched the demon move away and then smiled softly, tucking the key in his pocket... Perhaps he was making steps after all... Following the demon, Taka flopped down right on top of Rem, his very dense frame pressing down on the smaller man... "There's too kinds of cute... Kid cute and sexy cute... You are definitely the second... But if you prefer 'exquisitely beautiful' or 'breath-taking' or 'the epitome of sexiness' I can live with those..."

Chuckling a bit and smirking as he watched demon flip through channels, he took in details naming them off "Full, potty lips... Pale, smoothe skin... Soft, shiny hair... Big, beautiful eyes... And I'm sorry but you do have a button nose that is cute..."

Smiling a bit and wondering if you'll give him a tough time about dinner tonight he goes over the past couple weeks and realizes with some degree of discomfort that you're pretty much his live in boyfriend... Rem squabbles with him, plays pranks on him, sleeps in his bed... And to be honest the sex was amazing though he'll let you approach him when you're ready again... After all he doesn't want Rem thinking that he wants sex in return for helping him...

"I dont understand how sexy and cute can be considered one and the same." he hummed, continuing to flip through the channels as the continued to list on and on, giving a loud dramatic sigh and moving, grabbing the others shirt collar and tugging him near before kissing him to shut him up.

Honestly Rem didn't care if the other wanted sex in return for the help. it was probably the very least he could do to somewhat counteract the childish behavior he kept dishing out to the other. He moved a bit to sit in the others lap, fingers moving to play with the feathers that lined down the others back, as fascinated with them now as he was the first time he had seen them still.

"I talk a lot and you still manage to talk more than me. Are you trying to fill the awkward silence or something or was this just your goal?" He mused, looking at the other as he pulled back a bit.

Taka sighed in contentment into the kiss, moving his hand to cup the demon's face and stroke the soft skin, "Get me going about something I'm interested in and I won't shut up... You should hear me when I talk about the origin of the supernatural..."

Pressing his lips back to the demon's and suckling slowly, opening his mouth to allow Rem access, he happily just relaxes into the kiss... These kisses are quite relaxing for him, though honestly he's about surprised that the demon initiated this sort of play... But he certainly won't complain... When the demon climbed into his lap, Taka grinned and moved his hands to hold the demon's hips, opening his eyes and then murmuring, "Hm... mainly I just wanted to see you smile, but I have to say that this is very nice alternative..."

Laughing a bit and sighting contentedly as the demon's fingers stroked his back, he said softly, "Do you wanna see something cool?"

"Mm, you mean like the mother of all monsters or something?" he asked a bit, unable to stop himself as even he didn't know much about any of them. He made a pleased sound into the kiss, tracing his pierced tongue along the others lip and then tongue teasingly in response.

He tilted his head slightly, eyes owlish with curiosity when Taka asked that. "Do you really need to even ask? You know I'll say yes." He laughed, moving back a bit now as he wasn't sure what the other was going to show him or do, but he definitely wanted to know what it was without a doubt.

Taka grinned when the other took his bait and said "Yes, something like that... Though I have a different kind of theory... It's much too long to get into right now, but maybe this weekend I can show you the research... Now... Let me just move the coffee table..."

Giving the demon a little kiss on the lips before gently moving him off, Taka slid off the couch and then moved the coffee table way out of the way so that there's a wide open space in the middle of the room before turning to face you on the couch and saying firmly "Ground rules, and I cannot stress this enough, do not pull..."

Smiling a bit and taking his shirt off slowly, Taka turned around and gave you a full view of his back before extending his arms and focusing it... The jet black wings burst off his back, the appendages filling the space... Moving the wings so that they stretch a little bit, he ruffles the feathers, the red tips on the primary feathers glimmering a little bit almost looking a bit like they're one fire...

Tilting his head and looking back at you, he smirks, "It's not exactly the kind of thing you can walk into your local tattoo parlor and get done..."

"I'm not sure I want to let you get into it, I'd probably go nuts before we even got half way through it." He teased, sitting down on the couch and letting the other move things about as was needed, leaning back on the arm of the couch with his head resting his hand. "Okay okay, no pulling, got it."

He rolled his eyes a bit, not exactly sure what it was the other was firmly telling him not to pull, looking back at the others back and looking over the feathers absently until the wings popped out, feeling almost like a rabbit had sprung away from a predator.

"Holy shit Taka! What the fuck..." he breathed out, staring at the wings in shock for at least a minute before he finally moved and got up to get a closer look. "Is that why you had feathers down your spine?" he asked, snorting softly at the comment. "No kidding...that's crazy..."

Taka laughed softly and nodded looking a but bashful... "Yes, that's why... But the tattoo could only hide the wings... There down feathers don't have flesh or bone hide... So... Would you like to touch them? You can you know as long as you don'tpall the feathers... They're even more sensitive then the ears... Especially the bases... But... I thought you'd like them... You were so interested in my ears..."

He's rambling but he hardly ever shows anyone his wings, so he's feeling even more exposed now then if were standing naked in front of the demon... He feels like the demon will be interested in his wings, but at the same time he wonders if maybe they'd freak Rem out a bit...

Looking behind him to make sure that the demon isn't near enough to be knocked over, Taka sat down on the floor and just relaxed.... The wings were fairly light but he didnt want to just stand there while Rem explored things... Resting his wings down low he closes his eyes and just meditating for a bit... He wonders if maybe Rem will let him touch him later... Play with his piercings... The idea makes his tail twitch and his ears swivel a bit to listen to Rem's movement...

"It's okay?" he asked, waiting until the other sat down before kneeling down behind the other. He hesitated a bit before moving gentle fingers over where the wings met at the others back and feeling how it blended together before moving out over the left wing and tracing out the top of the frame, careful not to disrupt any feathers as he did.

He was in shock that he'd been around for so long now and hadn't realized the other had actual wings. It really was cool in his opinion. He didn't know many people with wings. He pushed his fingers into the feathers slowly, moving them downward as he leaned a bit closer. "They're really..amazing. Why do you hide them all the time? Can you fly? Or are they more decorative than actually usable?"
