Awakening (Open)

Asagi took a moment to inhale the scent of the food before him... Sure the souls of artists are what kept him fed, but humans really did have the best food... Humans were strange creatures in that way... They caused so much destruction, and yet were capable of such creation... Mysterious creatures they were in that respect... With impeccable table manners, he cuts a small piece of steak and places it in his mouth, sighing in delight as the flavor of the meat fills his mouth...

Truly he did miss this while he rejuvenated in the underworld... Alas, he needed to feed again, and so he had come to the surface, looking for an appropriate host... There wasn't much to choose from that he could see, but he would find somebody, of this he was certain...

Taking a sip of wine and looking around, he took careful note of the manner of dress... He didn't want to stick out... He never did... Suits rarely went out of style, so he was wearing one now, but the cuts of fabric had changed and as he watched people, he subtly changed the suit until it was the appropriate fashion for the era... After that he began observing the casual styles... It seemed like things had gotten a bit tighter and a lot dark since the 80's...

Taking a look at his watch, he decided to take a trip to the mall after his meal... He'd been seeing this hand held devices that several people called cell phones... Which had looked a little different... Obviously was going to have to catch back up with the technology again... Which he always looked forward too... Art had a way of always latching onto new technology, so he was certain these new gadgets had been brought into the creative world... Perhaps he would find someone who could teach him something new this time around...

Venturing into the southern part of the city wasn’t something Chisato did often. There were a few things that he needed, specialty items that were only sold in darker circles. The restaurant had seemed like a good place to stop. Despair wasn’t happy to know that he’d need to stay outside. The crow was whining about finding a place that allowed birds inside. “Neglect, this is pure neglect. You want to go inside and find someone more compelling to spend time with. Am I too dumb for you?” The crow shook its head before looking away from him. The guilt trips weren’t working now.

Chisato sighed. “If I don’t eat, then I’ll get sick. Who will take care of you if I’m unable to?” It was never easy to deal with the bird. “Really…I’ll go in and order something to go.” If the restaurant allowed such a thing, he’d be back outside as soon as he could. “Stay right here. Don’t antagonize any demons either..” It was quite possible that the bird would start a fight with the first being to walk past it.

With his bags in hand, the former goddess made his way into the restaurant. He glanced around quickly, trying not to draw attention to himself. This was a place where hope seemed to be a lost cause. His hand gripped the counter as he spoke with the waitress. She nodded to his request before moving to submit the order. There were a few tables open close to where he was supposed to wait.

His attention was drawn to a man in a fashionable suit. There was hope in that one. He couldn’t tell what the man was hoping for, but he couldn’t keep himself from staring. It was rude. Chisato glanced away, looking in the opposite direction. Approaching new people often lead to outcomes beyond his control.

Asagi continued his meal, savoring the taste until he felt someone watching him... It wasn't unusual... He was such a striking looking figure, it usually happened... But this wasn't human attention... Setting down his fork and wiping his mouth on the napkin before smiling softly and looking around... When his eyes landed on the being by the door, his smile widened even more and he waved gently gesturing for the goddess to come over... He had a sneaking suspicion he recognized the being, but he couldn't be sure without asking...

Pandora might have been one of the few beings that was near his own age... The ideas of war, despair and pestilence have been around for as long as humans been around... Probably longer then even then art... Asagi was of the opinion that it was always good to re-establish old connections, though he honestly wondered if Pandora would recognize him in his human skin...

Plus, Pandora had been connected to the ancient pantheons... Whereas he was only a minor muse to the Greeks... Beneath the notice of a goddess like Pandora...

The man's gentle guesture and wide smile had Chisato moving toward the table before he realized what he was doing. It was a feeling of being drawn to the other man. Perhaps that was why he'd stopped at the restaurant. He'd often thought that fate was like a game of chess. Meeting certain people depended upon how the pieces were moved into play.

When he reached the table, he paused behind a chair and bowed his head slightly. "Please excuse my rudeness. I usually don't go around staring..." He wasn't usually found in the demonic district either. There was a familiar feeling about this man. He couldn't pinpoint what it was. "Forgive me. I didn't intend to interrupt your meal."

He wasn't going to invite himself to sit down. Chisato's heart was beating fast. He wasn't sure whether it was that familiar feel or nervousness. The man's handsome features certainly made it more difficult to remain calm. "Might I treat you to dessert?" Asking outright was much easier than he thought it would be.

Asagi shook his head and held up his hand to let the other know it was okay "Supernaturals always attract attention, even amongst each other so I understand.. It's been a long time though, Pandora.... Have a seat... Let's chat..."

Patting the seat next to him, asagi moved over slightly to give the goddess room before raising his brow "conversation and dessert? I am so fortunate today..."

Waving his hand to the waiter and asking for a bottle of wine to be brought, asagi looked at the goddess and said "what may I get you for lunch?"

As always before he returns to the demon world he secures his assets with the demon bank so he'll havr something to live on when he returns to feed... And something to live on in his case is substantial... He's been well rewarded and showered in gifts by those he assists, so he lives quite comfortably when in human skin... The bank even updated his credit cards for him, and of course he has only the best...

He's a demon with expensive, but classy tastes if his suit is anything to go by... He wonders if Pandora recognizes him yet.
